This week’s pick is our new craft oils from Full Sun!
Full Sun® non-gmo craft canola oil is low in saturated fat and contains both omega- 6 and omega-3 fatty acids in an optimal ratio of 2:1. Our unrefined canola oil also has a large percentage of high-oleic, monounsaturated fatty acids.
Full Sun® unrefined craft sunflower oil is low in saturated fat and rich in oleic, monounsaturated fatty acids, and Omega-3, 6, and 9 and is a great source of vitamin E as well.
Both oils are very suitable for medium heat sautéing. For best nutrition when cooking, keep oil under 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
This week’s pairing is our Stony Brook Pepitas – Roasted Pumpkins Seeds
Locally grown pumpkin seeds, brined and small batch roasted. Perfect as a crunchy snack or tossed on salads or vegetable dishes. From Stony Brook, Geneva, NY 3 oz.
Toss these delicious crunchy seeds on a salad with the following dressing:
DIJON VINAIGRETTE
1 tbs. Dijon Mustard
2 cloves of Garlic (minced)
1/2 clove Shallot (minced)
1/2 cup Full Sun® Sunflower Oil
1/2 cup Full Sun® Canola Oil
Apple Cider Vinegar to taste (about 1/2 cup total)
1/2 tsp. Maple Syrup
Pinch of Salt
Mix mustard, garlic, shallot, vinegar, maple syrup & salt, then gradually add oils while whisking (or blending)
